for once i dont have any homework tonight so i thought i might do something productive on my xanga as i havnt updated it for a while now. so here i am...

2 more days till my half-term holiday -finally!! this term so far has just gone so slowly, school work has been quite tough actually and im finding myself working quite a lot, even in my frees (an acheivement for me). but its been great so far - in my opinion anyway, so i think il write about a few things iv been doing since the past month and a bit:

first major event of september was the stereophonics gig at the newcastle metro arena. it was brilliant!! we managed to get quite close to the front of the stage, but there was so much pushing and it got to the point where these 2 drunk guys started a fist fight right next to us. but neway, apart from that, and gettting completely soaked in beer (literally) it ws really good. some photos laraine took for me (she was closer to the front) -

  kelly jones

  the stereophonics

after that, i was very much occupied with my personal statement and ucas form etc because my deadlines were getting ever so close so not much did happen. had mackay's sleepover for a weekend where we played a few rounds of texas hold'em poker... guys on the trampoline breaking each others necks... very nice cake - contributed by pete and i (im still taking credit for that).

   trampolining

   the sleeping 18yr old

the weekend after that was katharine's sleepover... that was pretty crazy actually. chris, tim, peter and i got there after bridge at around 7 - only to be greeted by a severly pissed cindy (11 drinks in 2hours) ... and others who were completely sober. wish i took more photos actually. dont ask what the first few are- just random ones taken before the sleepover at school and exhibition park;

   beth with mols handmade hat

ruth came over to our school that day

cindy and ben falling off swing

   dancing and singing people

it was a night for men in fairy wings

   party animal

and stupidly enough gemma, katharine and i volunteered to help out with our school open day the next day - had to get up at 8 ... but we survived. just. -had to be tour guides and show new people around the school buildings which took over 3 hours.. and all we got was a biro. shocking.

last event for me recently was going to peter's auntie's 90th bday party. it was sooo cute lol. lovely meal and everything. and a photo from the evening (actually one of the most decent ones of us for once...) -

and following this, iv got 3 sleepovers to go to during half-term, which is quite exciting. one at heather's this weekend, another one at katharine's during the week, and a halloween fancy dress party (we're very mature) at tim's on the second weekend - haha. emm apart from that, i think il be doing some school work, coz iv already been given quite a lot to do... maybe some more reading... yeah im doing a bit of further reading for maths -coz i want to do maths+stats at uni. im currently reading "the maths gene" by keith devlin. its about the psychology of doing maths, and how maths developed etc. not amazingly good (cz i dont really find the psychological bits interesting), but its pretty readable. it says that chinese+japanese people have a built in advantage over american+european people when it comes to learning maths, and it argues using facts like how we have a different counting system etc. -i think thats complete bollocks. lol. after this... might dig into the school library to find anything else which looks fairly interesting. (so yes, iv been restraining myself fairly well not to read any manga... shame. il wait til my january modules are over i think...)

just a few re-comments:

amy - i did say i wouldnt have any photos - but hah, as if that was going to happen... lol just a few this time though. but yes, thanks for all ur comments neway -really sweet. hope uv recovered frm jetlag too. ooh kingdom hearts 2 coming out soon in japan (i think) !!

emi - i dont know if you'll manage to read this -but il ring u before/during/after this weekend so mattetene w ermm hope ur packings going well, and do let me know if theres anything i can do for you in the meantime.

il keep this entry nice and short-ish for now. ppl in japan esp - please do update coz id like to know the general jist of stuff going on there, and im really sorry for not emailing you all etc. i will promise to do that soon... i hope. till then, cya x x x

adrian and andrew
 - thanks to adrian who miokutta us at the bus station ... korenakute zannen dattayo mouu...

.... and a tribute to the man himself - we all love youuuu - lol

anyway, took us about 2 hours to get to kawaguchiko station, and then a further 20 minutes by bus to the yado.
(we did get terribly lost though - took us about 10 minutes to figure out where we actually were)

photo of emi and my room - naka naka yokatta desu.

and later on... went to explore what was around -

photo - of near the yado, not too rural, but nice fresh air and not too many people either.
first of all, we went to this "herb centre" kinda place:

there was this place where you could make stuff outa dried flowers etc -

what the inside of the place looked like - verrry pretty

- emi, shan and andrew in the process of making fans

me, reo and yuri - making postcards and bookmarks (we were the cheapskates out of the lot - lol

andrew and shan with their finished lavender fans  (with emi - ww)

and then, after that we went round to kawaguchiko (the lake there) ....

we were lucky enough to be blessed with lovely weather this day

boats near by which you could rent out ...

duck duck duck

hitori de kakko tsukenagara mizuumi wo nagameru yuri

yuri gets joined by the other lads.... (4nin de tasshon sugata)

..... and pose.

emi and i with kawaguchiko behind us

and then we go back to the yado.... detouring at the ge-sen ...

..... ma-jyan.... erosouna ma-jyan jyan kayo.... w  nasakenai .... *gusun*

yuri and emi on the  afjdjkldsfdd...... whats this called...? w

looooool - if anyone wants a video of this - ask me

after playing for a while, we decided to have tea. walked about 15 minutes to get to a restaurant :

emi and yuri - waiting sensibly ...

.... while shan takes the freaky approach

had a rather "interesting" dinner - thanks to the afro - loool
emi ---> konndowa kiicha dame dayo?? w

but anyway, we headed off back to the yado later - futon channto hikemashita w

yukata sugata mo suteki na emi chan ww

the next day- we got the bus, this really little cute bus :

called the "kawaguchiko sight-seeing bus" - lol. (sono manma ww)
to get to this blueberry place where we had plans on making some nice jam.

inside the bus- was a rather empty day this day.

reo and yuri - nakayoshi koyoshi ww

.......... futekusarete masune dareka hitori w

here's what the blueberry place looked like (sorry i forgot the actual name of the building)

oh - "shizen seikastukan" deshita. "buru-beri-- no sato" www

this was outside the blueberry building - fujisan no tsumori rashii w

and a view of lake kawaguchi from the place

and we start making jam - wooooo
emi and andrew were a pair- blueberry and raspberry
reo and shan made the same, and yuri and i made pure blueberry jam (was the best lol)

shuuchuu shitenai futari

and - talking about something ???  - yappari toumei no apron tte nanka .... loool

while waiting for the bus to come - "trivia no izumi" de itteta "kakkoiii machikata" wo hirou suru. www
actually, this was right before the large (ish) earthquake struck. kowai neee.

so then we went to this museum.... bit small but was nice neway

some of their stuff they made. - but we felt kinda awkward coz we were the only people there and we left lol

if you look closely - you can see its a spider web. photo taken nicely by shan who kept spotting big webs.

and then we headed off to this monkey show. awww dont these two look cute lol

jirou-kun ww

this has to be my fav photo taken here. (he's got a pair of plastic bananas -dont ask why)

group photo !! - might be our only group photo actually ...

then we went to this "ishikoro-kan" - a shop full of stuff with gems and stones. was rather cute.

aaaaaaaaa

aaaaaaaaaaaaa

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

*mentally disturbed*  (this was engraved on the wall outside the shop)

anyway......

we got dinner at a nearby combini, and here is what it looked like while we were eating lol
nannka chuunen no enkai mitai.... w

and we went for fireworks .... kirei dattane - kekkou kowakatta kedo w

some hand held ones : -

and then the next day- although it was slightly raining, we went hiking on this "ajisai course"

suggoi kirei deshita....

didnt take us that long to get to the top of the mountain ... but was nice after that to have some lunch :

lads chilling out - with a cat

manekko w

and at the top of the mountain (we used ropeway to get down ....)
this isnt quite a group photo .....
yuri ... was, well hangover -bless lol. demo afternoon made ni wa yoku natte mashita w

a view from the ropeway of the lake and its surroundings - it was really nice.

after that, we went on them rowing boats- i personally dont have any pics so you'll have to wait till emi updates hers - yoroshiku onegai shimasu w

*END OF ACADEMIC YEAR 2004 - 2005*

(im sorry this is a very late weblog but i really couldnt find the time before...
and the computer in england is just too slow for me to write huge posts)

anyway, first of all i just want to thank all the people who made this school year sooo good!!
and for those people in japan who i dont see that often, i really hope that this summer will be amazing too.

im going to go back quite a while in time:
here are photos from HEATHER'S BIRTHDAY PARTY (june 10th) which was also a party to celebrate end of exams for most people.
[except that laraine had C2 on 20th and i still had 3 more exams to go ... D1-16th, C3-20th, and C4-28th]

the day (actually, it was the afternoon after the physics and eco exams for some ppl) started off sunbathing in the garden:

the birthday girl (ish... you had several days to go!! lol) and chambers ....
literally mid-burping. great photo, honestly.

mackay and his little pink camera *aww*
(yeh i know it was mol's but still.... )

nice photo of g (and probably the most normal-est photo from the sleepover)

mol's whinge - "give me my (your) beeeeeeeerrrrr"

one of my favourite photos of peter and i

"i dont want a photo taken" says tim (be ashamed of that necklace :p)

you don't really know who is in the worse situation here...
(and quite frankly i dont think anyone cared at that time lol cant quite remember what happenned after this though)

when the sun went in, we all got back inside, and had some food.

looks very artificial i know, but this is a typical british, indian-takeaway. it tastes nice though.

pretty densely populated around the table. really couldnt fit anyone else.

mol and laraine at dinner table

a much better view for everyone. and now the whole world is happy.

mackay and chris. how cheesy could it get.

tim just makes the picture much better. you legend.

and the birthday cake (finest from tescos i tell you)
was rather lush but quite chocolate-y and sickening after a while...

a close-up of the cake. and there were 2 of them!!
(for all 12 of us to have a relatively normal sized pieces- thank youuuu!)

after that, well, hmmmm quite "mentally-disturbing" things happenned.
(here follows the "ben rapes ...." photo series.
plz scroll down if you would rather ignore these. dead funny though lmao)

started off being not toooo bad...

ben gets worse... and yehh.. the face tells all i believe.

bless you mackay -lol

adair also becomes a victim of ben's serial attacks.

chris lying quite comfortably on the sofa.

until ben jumps on top of him.

chris struggling to get out

the face of the serial attacker. nowt much else to say is there.

why was the obsession of the day to pile up on top of each other??

then i think we watched a film or something... cant quite remember :(
but g had to leave (btw we all missed you ruthy baby!!) and then just went to sleep after that i think.
dont really have good photos from the morning so this is it from heather's.

then on the 17th june, the EDINBURGH UNIVERSITY open day!!

just fell in love with the city as soon as i arrived really. it was just soo beautiful.

view just outside edinburgh waverly station.

also another photo outside the train station

chris and finchy walking outside the university campus

chris and peter outside the lecture hall near george's square (waiting for accomodation talk i think)

and a random photo of george's square

another building within the campus
- taken when walking to the student union bar listening to jade's pretty impressive story .... lol

finchy and mol at the student union bar... we had a brief break as we were starving.

mol and chris here... sorry its a bit blurry

peter and i as well
(yeah, you could tell that this place was under construction but hey lol)

chris, peter and i went to the pizza hut in the city centre and spent god knows how long...

peter and i at pizza hut as well (your photos are dif sizes to mine!! nm lol)

this is the last photo we took on the green near the train station.
ended up spending most of the day with pete and chris -was great though!!
had such a laugh -so thank you both of you!!
and on the whole, i really liked edinburgh as a city, as well as the university so iv decided to definitely apply for it!! yayyy!! :)

next event was THE HOPPINGS!! *woooo*
(its an amusement park-ish thing which comes to the town moor once a year)
all rides get built in a week. not the safest of places, but its great fun when you have money.

here we (peter, chris, becca todd and me) are at the hoppings.

first ride (you two just look so happy lol)
had a great video of it in action but sadly dont know how to post videos up -meh

the lads pissing about before the big ben ride started

and the big ben in action.
i got sick just looking at it move up and down lol

"superbowl" - worst ride of the day
each carriage spun round individually and then the whole thing slanted almost vertical to the ground.

blowing a kiss during the ride- awww
impressive photography as well since the things were spinning really fast lol

toddy and i copped out of this one too and instead chose to take a photo -lol
oh and yeahh, it was a reaally nice day for once!! (as you can see in pic -clear sky)

and after the ride, continuous moaning....
chris - "i feel sick like heeeelll"
peter - "my legs hurrrttt"

part of the magic mouse ride (mini roller coaster thing).
it was a pretty painful ride. probably more so to the ears coz of ppl screaming.

the good old memories at the food store.
toddy managed to pour vinegar all over peter- who smelt of it for the rest of the day.
chris managed to pour coke over my clothes as well. luckily it didnt stain lol
and oh yeah, peter managed to get some ketchup or brown sauce on me too. mehhh :p

but on the whole, it was a good afternoon coz it was right after school.
fun day out. i really enjoyed myself. thxxx!!

the day after my final exam, went down on a mini-trip to LONDON + OXFORD with my friends again for another batch of university open days.
this time, we went to see LSE, UCL and oxford university.

we (cindy, pooja, adair, chris, pete and i) got the 5.30AM train from newcastle central station.....

chris lying on adair on the train there...

and them again, elegantly eating their choc muffins, while playing cards with us lol

arrived at london king's cross station just before 9:

still rather quite daunting to think that a week after we were in london, the bombings happenned.
i hope something as terrible as that would never happen again.
took a while to figure out which tickets to get for the tube but did manage in the end.

went to starbucks before though as we were a little early...

found ben and rory at the registeration area in front of the peacock centre so decided to hang around altogether.

the peacock theatre of LSE (london school of economics) where we had registeration.
not the best organisation skills by the lse staff as peter, rory and i, with surnames at the lower end of the alphabet ended up queuing for about an hour outside whilst the others were out in about 15 minutes....

i was quite interested in the lse courses... but omg the lectures were boring like hell.
the lack of sleep the night before didnt help either.
most of us nodded off a few times in the first lecture (business maths+stats, acturial sciences, maths+eco)
and i ended up actually falling asleep in the second economics lecture ... it was boring lol

after the lse tour around the accomodation areas, the group split up...
peter and i went to see ucl, and i think the others just spent another few hours at a cafe or something lol

photo at euston station on our way to ucl

this is where we were sitting... waiting for the rain to die out

and both of us sitting on the floor at euston station

the language building of ucl (university college london)

the main entrance to the ucl campus. it was a shame we couldnt go inside to have a look

just for sophie- the darwin building where they do most of their biological sciences lectures etc

then after all this serious university stuff, we decided to have a tourist-y approach.... lol
since iv never been to london like properly or anything and we had a lot of time to waste.

the odeon at leicester square

at picadilly circus, which was full of foreigners and tourists

photo of us at picadilly circus.
bit windswept, but it was an absolutely gorgeous day (when it was forecasted rain)

pidgeons at trafalgar square!!
(reminded me sooo much of mary poppins, i had to take a photo of them)

the fountains at trafalgar square. such a pretty photo.

then i think we went to see the admiralty arch and looked at buckingham palace from a distance.
after that though, we went back to london paddington to get the train to oxford.

met chris and cindy in oxford since they got one train earlier.... which ended up coming into oxford after ours lol

had tea at pizza hut in which we adopted a finchy.

chris' room at wadham college in oxford...

finchy with shower cap on.... you just look so damn good with it

next day, we went to the maths lectures at the mathematical institute:

and some general photos from oxford....

this is broad street- one of the main streets of oxford. very pretty.

broad street again.
but you can see the vast numbers of bicycles... quite a lot of ppl here own one

some college photos....

st queen's college.
probably one of the largest and most amazingly built colleges in oxford.

st anne's college.
this is probably one of my favourite ones. quite modern, and yet its just so nice even compared to the really old classic buildings.

st peter's college.
another of my favourite colleges. situated pretty much in the centre of oxford, small but sweet lol

merton college
i think this was one of peter's favourite ones?? pretty big, and really good facilities.

we all got kicked out of our rooms on the second day and were offered another one each.
mine was a penthouse room- was brilliant!!

bed area... which you had to climb these ladders to get there

a balcony ... which was linked to several other rooms

me on the ladder trying to take a photo i think....

mr juicy!! these cartons of juice were in oxford everywhere!!
and yet iv never seen one in newcastle... must be special or something

all 4 of us spent quite a lot of time playing cards.
well done to cindy - who learnt how to play hearts from us 3 (worst explainers)
we played quite a lot in chris' room...

i remember chris attempting to dry his trousers by shining light on it lol
cant remember though why he managed to drench them...

but on the whole, we had such a good time!! (well, i did definitely)
sooo worth skiving prize giving lol
i really liked oxford, so will just apply and see what happens i think.
- only 25 places for the course i want to do ... im going to cryyyy :(
but oh well, we'll see... and yeah i better decide on the other unis i want to apply for...

(sorry for any grammer/spelling errors... this blog has turned out longer than i intended it to be. and thank you all who have read this far.... )

i really hope the summer holidays will be good for everyone, whether they are staying at home, or going abroad etc
am looking forwards to seeing as many people as i can in tokyo so... yoroshiku!!
and others in newcastle etc, hope to ttys on msn as well!!

the process of revision is pretty boring...
even more so when you know quite a lot of people you know have already done some or even finished their exams.
well, i havnt reaally been doing as much revision as i probably should have done.
-even though my next exam is on monday next week and i have 5 more in the same week... 3 afterwards... mehh

wednesday this week...
laraine, mackay, peter, tim, sophie and i met up to watch a film:
didnt know what was on so just decided when we were actually there:

"house of wax" - becca, laraine, mackay, peter, tim
"millions" - sophie

house of wax.... emmm was pretty gross actually lol
the story was well thought of and the computer graphics and stuff was really good
but... it was one hell of a jumpy film ... i didnt like it lol
neither did peter....  - you girl :p

thursday - friday .. sleepover at peter's:
(4 or 5 days before our exams and we completely kill ourselves - sensible move ppl)

about 6pm ish, people arrive...
(i think adair and i should get some sorta praise:
- since we were the only ones who got public transport ... from morpeth as well -an hour and a half!!
...and walked through blaydon shopping centre - ie. charv street.... lol)

chris sat on peters exercisey bike thing... - aka the tie rack lol
- with the football which becca almost killed holly with
and tim... looking ... incredibly sexy with pete's tie on...

shit photo .... but ah well who cares..
adair mucking around on the computer trying to put a dvd (league of gentlemen)
which was okay-ish, not overly funny, but good ...  to quote:
"you cant get an inteview if you dont know your job options"

ah the beauty of this photo... it shows:

a) mackay's t-shirt which blends perfectly with the wall
b) becca's t-shirt which blends with the curtains - shame i havnt got a pic of them curtains.... damn

but i do have:

a picture of mackay's foot... great. at least its white.

had some tea after watching an episode of the dvd. - lovely pizzas :)

chris and georgia by the table. and awww surprisingly, its a decent photo of chris - neveeeerrrrrrr lol

heathers on the phone here
..... to ben (aka tin tin) who's just checking up on his darling girlfriend ....
eeesh he has absolutely zero trust in us ... tut tut

photo of tim's hand with a fake scar-esq thing...
looked more impressive in real life actually, but mehh

who had ever thought that mackay would kick some ass...
(well, only literally, and tim's is a hard one to miss anyway :p jk)

catching georgia and chris in peters bed .... shame on you two lol

heather managed to get herself (yet again... lol) into a rather awkward position here - between adairs legs
im not even going to ask...

the alcohol we had for the night -between the 9 of us...
not toooo much, but enough to keep us going for the night. ...consisted of:
- about 25 bottles of beer [stella, becks, budweiser]
- bottle of red wine
-7 or 8 smirn offs
- bottle of italian mandarin vodka

peter ... in his blinding brazilian football strip. you just dont listen do you...

i think heathers getting attacked by adair here.... (possibly tim as well -you never know)

and mackay decides to join adair. just so popular arent you miss parker ;)

the games we played (and surprisingly in order as well):
1) spoonerisms
2) pass the orange
3) suck and blow
4) frozen key chain
5) banana twist
6) cross-dressing derby
7) as you like it
8) i have never
9) who has never

spoonerism- was a practical joke, not a game, sorry mackay :p
two people (mackay and i) each have hold of one end of a spoon in their mouths.
and theres a referee (peter) and each time...
one person has a blindfold (or eyes closed) and the other gets to whack the other with their spoon
this gets repeated.
funny bit is, after a few rounds, instead of whacking the other person with the spoon in your mouth (which really doesnt hurt...)
the referee instead hits the person with a hidden spoon -and yeh, that would hurt i think....
so well done to mackay... who completely fell for it and got whacked by peter several times lol

pass the orange- this is a classic game
in two teams, one person lined up after another
and you just have to pass the orange which is held under the chin

suck and blow - also quite a famous game
in two teams, one person next to another
and this time you have to pass a piece of small paper around..
but which is held by the mouth just by sucking on it... -if that makes any sense what so ever

frozen key chain- you only need two keys, each on the end of a v long piece of string
in two teams... yet again.
aim is to pass the key up your clothing -from bottom of trouser leg to up to the top of your shirt
or vice versa... the key was put in a freezer for a while before playing
-unlucky for the two people who had to start it off :p

banana twist- was one hell of a funny game this....
in pairs, a lad and a girl. each pair has a banana
the lad has his arms behind him ...
and the girl has to pass the banana from the bottom of one trouser leg...
through the trousers, past the crotch area, of course, and down the other.
some amusing photos -taken by mackay:

first two pairs up - georgia and chris, adair and heather...

i think the banana got stuck in adair's....
heather just seems to be struggling a liiiittle bit to get it up lol

and ... mol also blaming the banana for not going up tims trousers....
(i think tim just opted for the i'll-just-do-it-myself method by the looks of it lol)

and from this game... i think i was able to establish the fact that....
"a banana has only two ends" - not three

cross-dressing derby....
this was quite simple -well, the rules were... but complex to do actually do it....
people were paired up again, a boy and a girl....
lights get switched off... and you just have to switch clothes as quickly as you can
- not as easy as it sounds.

pairs were:
1) mackay and mol
2) chris and georgia
3) heather and adair
4) peter and i
lights and photos by tim... (who was fortunately paired out as there were 5 lads and only 4 girls)

tim thought it was a good idea switching the light on before we were all properly dressed:

.... at least it was only mackay who wasnt. fortunately for him, he looked fine in becca's t-shirt
....and, was even able to fasten the jeans up properly... lol

.......... peter looking an absolute twat ... top stretched out, jeans nowhere near being done up.... :p
(unfortunate to be paired up with me -who had by far the smallest items of clothing....)
and me, battling with peters belt to actually keep the trousers up
.... but didnt actually matter even if they did fall down as the shirt was down to my knees anyway... lol

chris and georgia -who surprisingly didnt look that bad....
but they cheated... tut tut :p
chris had g's pj top on. unfair, i think - especially if you consider it from pete's view lol

and last but not least, adair and heather.... looking ok-ish as well....

adair loved heathers clothes .... he was even posing a very sexy shot for the camera

as you like it- rather crap game....
only good thing which came out of it was.... mackay kicking adair i suppose...

i have never + who has never... also classic games
cant remember much being said... just drinking hell loads for it i think
went to sleep after that around 5 or 6 am.... and woke up around 9...

had some breakfast...
i think chris was happy - managing not to get sick after a sleepover

looking dead sexy here...... or not

last photo ... mol, adair, heather... and peters mum in the background lol

cant wait till heathers now, its going to be gooood ..... :)
